Never in a million years did I think I could be “into fitness,” let alone become a successful coach. I’ve struggled with obesity all my life, weighing 245 lbs at my heaviest. Over the years, I tried every diet imaginable, only to experience the yoyo effect with no lasting results. It was beyond discouraging.
After losing my job due to a company shutdown, I saw an opportunity to focus on myself and learn how to be healthy for life, both physically and nutritionally. I joined an outdoor bootcamp and committed to an 8-week challenge. I was filled with emotions, especially fear—fear of failing. But I knew I owed it to myself and my quality of life to see it through.
The results were undeniable. I lost 28 lbs in the first 8 weeks, thanks to my hard work and dedication. I was hooked, proud of myself for the first time in years. I stuck with the workouts and meal plans, and the weight continued to drop. As my fitness level improved, I was offered a chance to become an instructor at the bootcamp. Though hesitant at first, I was passionate about sharing what I’d learned and helping others like me achieve their goals.
With my newfound passion for fitness, I joined Forge Valley Fitness in March 2013. This took my dedication to the next level. I fell in love with the atmosphere and community culture, which gave me new challenges that boosted my confidence as an athlete and a coach.
My journey has had its ups and downs, but I wasn’t going to let anything take me back to that unhappy place. I progressively lost 100 lbs and am now thrilled to help others on their journey to find happiness in their health and fitness.
