Laurie’s love for the outdoors and activities like hiking and skiing began in her youth. She was also involved in various organized sports such as swimming, volleyball, gymnastics, karate, and netball.
In her twenties, Laurie discovered a passion for free weights, cycling, running, and yoga. Today, she enjoys these activities with her husband and two sons, striving to be a positive role model for them.
Laurie’s passion for an active lifestyle led her to become certified as a fitness and yoga instructor. She enjoyed instructing fitness classes and developing her weightlifting programs but sought something more challenging.
That challenge turned out to be CrossFit. Laurie fell in love with CrossFit’s variety, physical demands, mental challenges, and supportive community. She achieved her CrossFit Level 1 trainer certification in September 2013 and is excited to help others reach their goals. Laurie continues to train at and learn from the high-caliber coaches at Forge Valley Fitness.
